In the early 1990s, Xu Shaochun (Founder of Kingdee) independently developed the Aipu Computer Accounting System V1.0, putting an end to the complete reliance of foreign-invested enterprises on imported financial management software. In 1993, Xu Shaochun founded Kingdee.
Kingdee embraced the Windows platform and released China's first Windows-based financial software, empowering 12 million finance professionals to move beyond the abacus.
With a CNY20 million investment from International Data Group, Kingdee became the first company in China's financial software sector to bring in venture capital — a milestone that marked its full-scale entry into the enterprise management software market.
Kingdee K/3, China's first internet-based three-tier ERP system, was released and selected as a National Torch Program project.
